About Us

People for: Zombie Jamboree: The Day the Dead..uh..Weren't

Ben Grace

Role(s): actor
Year Started: 2000
Bio: Ben helped us out in the Australian War scene when we needed several extras to give the illusion of a battle. Though his characters died three times, all in a row, he kept on and came back to play Pat the Vampire in Zombie Jubilee. He 'dies' even more times in this movie, but none of these end up working, so he enters a film festival and wins!

Chris Thombs

Role(s): actor, filmer, director, costumes, writer, pyrotechnics
Year Started: 1987
Bio: One of the other founders of 'Danny on the Moon', Chris has been in every DCJ movie to date, beating out Dann after he was not in Goshzilla. Other main characters include, Gangsta's, Karate teachers, werewolfs, aliens, The Stupid Karate Kid, The Boy, the Honey I'm Home, woman, the X-Piles guy, a nerd, Guy #1, a Mc employee, a burgler, Bob Cratchet, the scream guy, an warrior, Christo, a young Katano, The Silver Alien, Shlim/The Silver Enemy, Ryannu, Theo Folio, and the Survivalist. He also played many body doubles and operates the camera at times. In addition to acting, he writes most of the scripts and figures out what we're supposed to be doing when we just sorta stand around hoping the filming will get done by itself.

Dann Thombs

Role(s): actor, filmer, director, costumes, pyrotechnics, special effects
Year Started: 1987
Bio: It all started with the flagship show: 'Danny on the Moon' From there it went downhill, until we bounced, and it started to get interesting. Boasting such intelligent writing for skits like: bum scum candy, super karate school, and the anti-gang helmet, all we needed was the ability to edit on the computer. Just seven short years later, that dream came true with DuctWars: The Rebellion. The true power of the computer as shown and almost made the movies worth watching. Once that was completed, a sequel was made and the effects grew as well as the movie length. Gone were the days of making a full movie in one day or two. Gone were the days of recording the scenes in the same order as they happened. Although those days will be missed, and we won't have a full 8mm tape of stuff to watch, it has yielded a greater product.

Dann does most of the editing and special effects for DCJ films. He takes care of most of the bothersome technical problems that computers bring and spends hours tweaking movie frames to get them just right. Most of the time, when a scene is done, he retains no knowledge of how it was completed. He also acts, films, directs and sometimes scripts.

John Heins

Role(s): actor, filmer, director, costumes, writer
Year Started: 1993
Bio: Although 'Danny on the Moon' and 'Honey I'm Home' were the first movies John appeared in, 'The Stupid Karate Kid' was his first major acting feat. Posing as the 'evil guy', he had the opportunity to fight the Stupid Karate Kid. Later he returned to do the Stupid Karate Kid II and III. These made way for greater films such as Nerd 2 Turd in 3 Days, and Goshzilla. Once Ductwars was staring production, he revived his role in the original version of DuctWars as well as playing about 3 other characters. In DuctWars II, he played a full 6 characters. In addition to performing in DCJ Production films, he filmed and edited 'The Blue Potato' for Portsmouth Abbey, and is majoring in film at Northwestern University.
